Bodyguard training is something which every bodyguard must have, although the types of training required depends largely on your background, and what type of training you’ve already received (via the military, police force etc) before turning your hand to becoming a professional bodyguard. Of course, anybody who is interested in becoming a bodyguard will need to undertake a basics bodyguard contact training course, which is important so that they can understand every single aspect of the bodyguard industry.
The duties you may be called on to perform as a bodyguard contact personnel include;
- Bodyguard close contact protection
- Anti terrorism skills
- First aid (you never know when you might need it)
- Risk assessment – bodyguards are much more than “beefcakes” these days
- Weapons disarming – bodyguards contact with many different types of weapon and need to know their way around each of them
- Unarmed combat – this really is bodyguard contact training at it’s best, the art of unarmed combat
- Counter surveillance
- Dispute resolution . . . bodyguards can become involved in resolving many types of dispute, it’s all in a days work
- Defensive driving may be necessary to keep their client safe, so bodyguard defensive driving training is a must for many bodyguard contact positions
